Ron DeSantis is an American politician and the current Governor of Florida. He was born on September 14, 1978 in Jacksonville, Florida.


DeSantis started his political career as a naval lawyer and served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the United States Navy. After leaving the military, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Florida’s 6th congressional district from 2013 to 2018.


In 2018, DeSantis ran for the position of governor of Florida and was successful in defeating his Democratic opponent, Andrew Gillum. During his campaign, DeSantis focused on issues such as job creation, improving education, and protecting the environment.
