Poland delivers ultimatum to Germany regarding provision of tanks to Ukraine

Germany's foreign minister announced on Sunday that the country will not intervene in Poland's decision

to deliver Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. Poland's Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, had previously

announced plans to send the tanks on Monday, which has resulted in disagreements between Germany

and the United States over who should be responsible for providing main battle tanks to Ukraine

The recent U.S. arms package for Ukraine did not include any M1 Abrams tanks, which is a cause of

concern for Ukraine as it anticipates a potential ground attack from Russia in the near future. Ukraine has

thus requested heavy battle tanks to strengthen its defense. The United States and other allies have been

urging Germany to supply the tanks, as its Leopard 2 tanks are considered to be the most suitable for

Ukraine's current conflict. Germany has already sold a significant number of Leopard tanks to other

European countries that are located close to Ukraine, such as Poland. This proximity allows for faster

and more cost-effective delivery of the tanks to Ukraine
