In 2008, Westbrook was selected fourth overall by the Seattle SuperSonics (now Oklahoma City Thunder) in the NBA draft. He quickly established himself as a key player for the team, and in his second season, he helped lead the Thunder to the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.


In 2010-2011 season, Westbrook became an All-Star for the first time and led the Thunder to the Western Conference Finals, but they were defeated by the Dallas Mavericks. The next season, the Thunder reached the NBA Finals, but lost to the Miami Heat.


In the following seasons, Westbrook established himself as one of the best players in the league, earning All-NBA First Team honors in 2015 and 2016. He also won the NBA Most Valuable Player award in 2017, averaging a triple-double for the season, a record-breaking 42nd time in a single season.


In 2017, Westbrook achieved another milestone in his career, becoming the first player since Oscar Robertson in 1961-1962 to average a triple-double for a season. He also set the record for most triple-doubles in a season with 42, breaking Robertson's record of 41. He repeated this historic feat in the 2018-2019 season.


Westbrook's dynamic play and fierce competitiveness have made him one of the most exciting players to watch in the league. He's a seven-time NBA All-Star, and has been named to the All-NBA First Team three times. He also won the NBA All-Star Game MVP award in 2015.
