Patrick Mahomes is a professional American football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and quickly established himself as one of the league's top quarterbacks.


Mahomes began his college career at Texas Tech University before transferring to the University of Kansas. After a solid college career, he was picked by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He then spent his rookie season as the backup quarterback behind veteran Alex Smith.


In 2018, Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback for the Chiefs and had an historic season, throwing for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to reach those figures in his first year as a starter. He was named the NFL MVP and led the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game.


Mahomes continued his success in the 2019 season, leading the Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers, winning Super Bowl MVP. In 2020, he led the team back to the Super Bowl, but lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.


Mahomes is known for his strong arm, accuracy, and ability to make plays outside of the pocket. He is a dual-threat quarterback, able to make plays with both his arm and his legs. He is also known for his leadership and competitiveness, both on and off the field.


Off the field, Mahomes is known for his philanthropy and charitable work. He has a foundation, named 15 and the Mahomies, that aims to improve the lives of children by providing resources and opportunities.
