Embiid was selected third overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2014 NBA Draft. However, his professional career was plagued by injuries, and he missed his first two seasons due to a foot injury. Embiid finally made his debut for the 76ers in the 2016-2017 season and quickly established himself as one of the best centers in the league. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, and he also finished third in the Rookie of the Year voting.
