From Palmdale to the NBA: The Paul George Story




 Paul George is a professional basketball player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on May 2, 1990, in Palmdale, California, George began his basketball journey playing for Knight High School in Palmdale. After a successful high school career, he was offered a scholarship to play basketball at Fresno State University.


In 2010, George was selected by the Indiana Pacers with the 10th overall pick in the NBA draft. He quickly established himself as one of the top young players in the league and was named to the All-Rookie second team in 2011. Over the next several seasons, George became a key player for the Pacers and was selected to the All-Star team in 2013 and 2014. In 2017, George was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder where he continued to perform at a high level, earning All-Star honors in 2018 and 2019.


In 2019, George was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers where he teamed up with Kawhi Leonard to form one of the top duos in the league. During the 2019-20 season, George had one of his best seasons yet, averaging career-highs in points (28.0), rebounds (8.2), and assists (4.1) per game. He was named to the All-NBA third team and was a key contributor to the Clippers' success in reaching the second round of the playoffs.
