 John Wall is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on September 6, 1990 in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended Word of God Christian Academy where he was considered one of the top high school basketball players in the country.


Wall was selected as the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards, where he spent the first nine years of his career. He quickly established himself as one of the premier point guards in the league, showcasing his speed, athleticism, and playmaking abilities. In his rookie season, Wall was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, and he went on to become a five-time NBA All-Star during his time with the Wizards.


Despite his individual success, Wall's time in Washington was plagued by injury issues and the team struggled to find sustained success. In December of 2018, he was traded to the Houston Rockets, where he has since been working to regain his All-Star form.
